Waltham France - Galaxy Dial - Circa 1960

This dial left Waltham's French works around 1960 with a midnight blue dial. Sixty years changed that entirely brass showing as gold flecks has come up through the blue from beneath, a slow chemistry no one planned and no one can repeat. The dial resembles a deep blue night sky with gold scattering across it the way stars do, dense in some fields, thin in others. 

The movement is signed Waltham Watch Co France, and it runs and keeps time. The case is chromed with a stainless steel back stamped Waltham France, it has honest wear and scratches throughout.  Service history is unknown.
