Bulova Jet Star - Green to Gold Fumé Dial - Faceted Crystal - Day-Date - 1975

The dial on this Jet Star is the reason you stop scrolling. Deep forest green at the edges bleeds into a warm golden yellow at center, shifting with every tilt of the wrist in a true tiger's-eye effect that photographs partially but reveals itself fully only in hand. The look comes from a sunburst metal base finished with a fumé degradé lacquer, viewed through a faceted acrylic crystal that throws light horizontally across the surface and adds a prismatic depth that a flat crystal simply cannot produce. It is one of the more visually distinctive dials Bulova produced during the 1970s, and finding one in this condition is not common.

The sharp faceted tonneau case with pointed shoulders frames a day-date display at three, while luminous syringe hands and Arabic numerals keep the dial legible without competing with the color. Inside is Bulova's gilt automatic Caliber 11AOACB, clean and running well. The caseback code N5 dates production to 1975. The faceted crystal was replaced with a brand new old stock Bulova crystal after the original cracked, which is the correct period replacement. The stainless case shows honest surface scratches consistent with its age but retains its lines cleanly, and the caseback carries clear markings throughout. The lume shows even, consistent aging. Fitted on a rouge reptile-grain strap that suits the green and gold shimmer well.
